Carrie Cooke was a book publisher and old friend of Ryan Hardy in The Following. They were in a past relationship, as she was responsible for publishing Ryan's book and her book after Joe's presumed death. Their past relationship was never serious as their fling was during the gap from season 1 and 2 after Ryan was drunk. Determined to get the scoop, Carrie is willing to find anything on anything about Joe Carroll, even getting with Ryan Hardy. It is this trait that has caused her to become a target of Joe Carroll and his followers, forcing her to reveal his identity to the world less she and her loved ones die.
